To aid you in the process of creating a new recognized student organization (RSO), the Department of Student Life has developed the New RSO Information Packet. The packet includes the following:

• Potential RSO Information form
• Constitution Outline
• Recognition Process
• Advisor Consent form
• Posting Policy

Upon completion of reviewing the New RSO Information Packet an appointment will need to be scheduled with the Department of Student Life staff. Call 341-4286 and request a new RSO meeting, which usually lasts about ½ hour.

Helpful Hints

• It takes 10 Missouri S&T students to form a group
• The group will need a faculty or professional staff member who is employed at least 75% of the year to serve as an advisor
• The recognition process can take a semester or more to complete
• Keep in contact with the Department of Student Life staff
